Creating the "People-friendly" materials behind familiar products
Nippon Surfactant was founded in 1953 as the specialty chemical manufacturing arm of the Nikkol Group. Starting from manufacturing surfactants based on colloid science, we have widened our field of research and development to create many flagship products including oils and vitamin derivatives. A wide variety of products used in daily life are made from these ingredients, such as cosmetics, hair care products, detergents and additives for food and pharmaceuticals. We are always developing products that have better performance, but because these products touch the skin or enter the mouth, making “people-friendly” products is more important to us than everything else.
Promoting our “GCS+E” environment-friendly strategy
We create products that contribute to the company yet at the same time, environmental protection is our mission. Our “GCS+E” (“Green, Clean, Sustainable, Economy”) approach is a key part of that strategy. We are committed to offering our customers the cost benefits of raw materials from renewable vegetable sources, while reducing the environmental impact of manufacturing process development and waste.
In addition, we simplified the processes for the materials going into finished products, leading to energy savings for the customer’s goods that go to market. Also, we have worked vigilantly for many years to ensure safety and product quality in our manufacturing activities, and these practices have been thoroughly implemented throughout our facilities.
Strengthening and elevating global development to a new stage
Now we are actively advancing global development. In addition to the Western market, we recently opened our Singapore factory as a starting point to expand in the Asian market. While sales in this region continue to grow, our Singapore facility offers the advantage of the same level of high-quality product manufacturing as we make in Japan. In addition, we are accelerating innovation by activating global exchanges in information, technology, human resources and many other areas.
This means more value-added products for domestic customers and those around the world. As a global Japanese brand, we aim to reach a new stage.
